The Great Cormorant is a black fishing bird native to Ireland and Great Britain. Our band's name, Cormorant's Fancy, reflects how the bird’s name might entitle one of Ryan's fiddle tunes.

We play your old favorite and what will soon be your new favorite Celtic music !

We truly love it when our audiences sing along, clap along, and dance along! That's why you'll recognize familiar chorus songs and the infectious beats of jigs and reels. And that's why we provide sing-along sheets, and even rhythm instruments so that the young and young-at-heart join Ricky on percussion.

At the same time, we absolutely love the depth and breadth of Irish, Scottish, and all Celtic traditional music! We constantly search for the very best songs and tunes, the music we know you will love! Only the rare band matches our vocal capabilities or spirited and nuanced playing! Every member of Cormorant's Fancy is a singer and a multi-instrumentalist! Each brings creativity that gives us "a knack for gorgeous arrangements." We're much more than just the typical Irish band.

We get to know our venues to present programs that perfectly fit their needs. We delight in working with all ages, from schools to retirement villages! We're proud to play from festivals to fetes, eateries to estates, parlors to pubs, and weddings to wakes.

Celtic music is, literally, in our blood! We root our heritage in Ireland's County Down, Clan Donald of the Scottish Isles, Wales, Cornwall, and Celtic Canada, visiting our ancestral homes every chance we get!

Since our 2003 beginning, Cormorant's Fancy has performed for concert series, festivals, historical events, libraries, park events, coffee houses, weddings, banquets, private parties, and worship services. We're Music, Gettysburg! concert series favorites! Festivals include Heart of the Arts Festival, Northern Appalachian Folk Festival, and Adams County Irish Festival. We entertain for yearly Burns events. Margaret, Stephen and Beth recently played at festivals in Scotland and England. We're the house band at the Historic Fairfield Inn, and frequent performers at Fitzgerald's Shamrock Restaurant. To see more about our venues and the individuals in Cormorant's Fancy, please click on the "Download More Information and Biographies" buttron below, or contact us at
